All DFC programs positively transform the lives of those impacted by diabetes through the power of community. Our organization provides year-round recreational programs that build confidence, optimism, a supportive community, and the leaders of tomorrow.

Camp Morris
Camp Morris is the DFC’s flagship program. We are North Carolina’s largest sleep-away diabetes summer camp and serve approximately 200 campers annually! Kids and teens living with diabetes will experience a week-long camp program that is chock-full of excitement, friendship, teachable moments, and opportunities to be challenged by choice.

Teen Retreat
We know living with diabetes as a teenager isn’t easy. Between school, friends, and the push for independence, it can feel like no one truly understands what you’re going through. That’s why The DFC hosts this weekend retreat designed just for you — to build confidence, gain real-life skills for managing diabetes, and have fun with others who share your journey.

Family Retreat
This special weekend offers a unique opportunity for families of children living with diabetes, including grandparents and siblings, to share the camp experience and build lasting memories, while expanding your support network and redefining your relationship with T1D.

Camp to Community
The DFC’s Camp to Community program brings the magic of diabetes camp to families—right in their own backyard! This one-day event is designed for children ages 5–15 living with type 1 diabetes and their families to experience a day filled with fun, laughter, education, and connection.

Real Talk
Our year-round virtual connection calls provide a safe, judgment-free space for anyone impacted by T1D. Share experiences, discover helpful resources, and connect with your people in the T1D community—all from the comfort of your own home.
