Community Volunteer

Help families and individuals living with or impacted by T1D thrive through a variety of programs:

  • Become a Community Connector, linking families to resources, support and the T1D community.
  • Pack and send PMA Care Packages filled with encouragement and practical tools for nominees who need a little PMA pick me up!
  • Plan and lead fundraisers or connect us with corporations and donors.

Camp to Community Counselor or Support Counselor

Join our team as we bring the magic of camp to communities across North Carolina! Help us host one-day events that connect families, provide valuable resources, and create a fun, camp-like experience for kids ages 5–15. Open to volunteers 16+; background checks and training are required.


Camp Morris Counselor

Join our Camp Morris Counseling team at North Carolina’s largest residential diabetes camp! Spend a week sharing the magic of camp while mentoring and empowering campers living with T1D. Help them discover their Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) and inspire them to live boldly while managing this life-changing condition.

Open to volunteers 18 +, an application, interview, background check, and training are required. T1D experience is highly recommended.


Medical Counselor

Join our Camp to Community or Camp Morris team as a Medical Counselor, providing guidance and reassurance for campers or participants in both programs. Support youth living with T1D to manage their diabetes safely while encouraging independence, building confidence and embracing a Positive Mental Attitude (PMA).

Medical Counselors must hold a valid medical license, complete an application, interview process, background check, and training. T1D experience not required but highly recommended.
